Oct 2016 : Report on KCIAPM Slide Seminar

The third slide seminar of 2016 was hosted by Apollo hospitals, Bengaluru on 8th October 2016.

The moderators were – Dr Swarna Shivakumar & Dr. Ramya P.

Breakfast and Tea was sponsored by Apollo Hospital.

Slide seminar was conducted at Apollo hospital, Level III training hall.  About 45 Postgraduate students of pathology and faculty from various medical colleges across Karnataka attended.

Ten interesting histopathology cases were selected from the archives of Pathology department, Apollo Hospital.  All slides were converted to virtual slide image (Courtesy: Anand diagnostics, Bengaluru) and uploaded to KCIAPM website on 18th September for viewing and diagnosing the cases. We received around 20 responses from medical colleges and diagnostic centers. The cases were presented by PG students from ten selected medical colleges. The best presenter was given the trophy and a certificate.

The cases were then discussed in detail by Dr. Swarna Shivakumar, and Dr. Ramya P

We received an excellent feedback by the participants. Feedback regarding quality of the virtual images, selection of the cases, discussion by the speakers and overall organization of seminar were graded excellent and very good.
