Welcome to
Karnataka Chapter of the Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists (KCIAPM) is a non-commercial, professional organization founded under the guidance of National organization Indian Association of Pathologist and Microbiologist (founded in 1949) with the objective of promotion and advancement of pathology, microbiology and allied sciences.
It acts as an expert technical body to express its views on all matters (and questions that may arise) on education, training, professional practice and quality control and passes them on to the competent authorities for implementation. It provides a forum for presentation and publication of research activities in the fields by way of conferences and its online journals.
The research activities are encouraged through scholarship, prizes and awards. The KCIAPM promotes dissipation of knowledge and exchange of new ideas and technologies by inducing the experts to arrange CME programs and workshops.
KCIAPM annual conferences are being organised under the guidance and supervision of KCIAPM regulatory body, in different parts of Karnataka who invites the event in rotational basis.

It is a great honor to serve as the President of one of the most prestigious chapters of the
Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists (IAPM) – the Karnataka Chapter
(KCIAPM). This association has flourished under the guidance of eminent leaders, and I
assure you that I will work diligently to further elevate its status, ensuring its continued
national and global relevance.
In the post-COVID digital era, KCIAPM was among the first to embrace technology and
online platforms to uphold our mission of advancing pathology education. My previous roles
within the association have provided me with valuable insight into its functioning, which will
aid in planning future activities in collaboration with our dedicated team.
I am fortunate to have the support of Dr. Santhosh, our esteemed Vice President, whose
wisdom and experience will be invaluable. Our energetic Secretary, Dr. Adithya Agnihotri,
and our seasoned Treasurer, Dr. Thejasvi Krishnamurthy, bring both youth and experience ,
making our team dynamic and efficient. I also extend my sincere thanks to Dr. Sujay Prasad,
our Immediate Past President, whose leadership continues to inspire me.
The year ahead will be filled with enriching academic activities, including slide seminars,
workshops, CMEs, and conferences. Our social media subcommittee will ensure a strong
digital presence, while the Newsletter and Cultural Committees will showcase both the
literary and cultural talents of our members. Also, the Scientific Committee will play a key
role in supporting research by executing grants and awards, facilitating academic growth
among residents.
One of our most exciting endeavors is the upcoming KCIAPM School of Pathology. The first
course, an Online Course on Entrustable Professional Activities (EPA), led by Dr. Reshma
Kini, will start in January 2025. This initiative will be followed by other educational offerings
in different subspecialities throughout the year. We will work towards, acquiring credit
points and awarding certificates by KCIAPM upon successful completion.
Also, as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Diagnostic and Academic Pathology (JDAP), I am
committed to expanding the editorial board, the journal’s reach, encouraging contributions
from scholars across the globe.
I urge all team members to work selflessly and tirelessly towards achieving our collective
goals. I also encourage feedback from all our members to continuously improve our
functioning and welcome suggestions for new initiatives.
Together, let us continue to grow and make a meaningful impact on our profession and
society. Let us work hand in hand to make the world a better place.

We organise quiz for both UG and PG students. It can be inter-college or intra college level, and we create an opportunity for students to present their knowledge. You will able to see the past Quiz and the winners in this section.
Explore the benefits and take the complete advantage of the membership. As a member, you are entitled to many facilities and in turn get discounts for the events organised by KCIAPM.
We plan conferences well in advance. You will be able to see the macro-level details of the conference to plan accordingly. The first cut information will be made available here for all the stakeholders of the event.
KCIAPM values and recognises the academic works of its member. We also create an opportunity to list the publications, abstracts, text book in the site for our visitors to have a look.
